Do you remember playing It Girl on Facebook back in the day? It was a phase where we spent most of our free time on Facebook, either scrolling through feeds or playing some of their addictive games. While many of my friends were hooked on Farmville and Fishville, growing their virtual farmlands and taking care of their pets, I was utterly obsessed with the online fashion game It Girl.

Tommy Hilfiger’s recently launched AI-based fashion game Fashionverse took me down memory lane. Dressing up virtual characters and having showdowns with other characters in the game; the only difference here is that the characters look more human-like, thanks to AI. 

This game has been developed and tailored for millennial and older Gen Z fashion enthusiasts. The creators of this game probably know that millennials grew up with online games with poor graphics and wanted them to experience what they missed out on.

FashionVerse lets players enter into design challenges, craft fashion sets in Stylist mode, and unleash their artistic flair through mood boards in Trendsetter mode. It’s all about showing off your style skills.

Even today, most fashion games online have characters that look like cartoon versions of celebrities or Barbie dolls, with perfectly proportioned bodies and a perfect face. However, in Fashionverse, you would come across more realistic characters of different ethnicities, sizes, and abilities, which is way more inclusive. 

Hilfiger envisions a future where players will have the opportunity to create their own content by designing their own clothing items to use within the app. How awesome would that be?

The team is still deliberating on whether and how to integrate commerce into FashionVerse, which would enable users to purchase real-life versions of the outfits featured in the game. Imagine rocking a look you perfected in FashionVerse out in the real world!

FashionVerse is accessible through the Netflix mobile app, on iOS and Android devices. It’s like carrying a little slice of fashion fun wherever you go.
